Flood Grant Ensures Repairs and Refurb

24 Sep 2021

In February this year  freak flooding occured when the brook broke its banks due to a high tide and torrential rain. The nets and car park were under 1 -2 feet of water, only just stopping at the clubhouse.

Thankfully with the help of Kent Community cricket officer James Moss we were able to access ECB and Sport England Flood relief grants to repair the damage.

The original installer Notts Sports came out and inspected the integrity of the under surfaces and surveyed the storm damage. Both funding streams enabled the club to bring the nets back to their original new condition and flood defence work to the car park to prevent water running off the car park into the net area.

Thanks to Tim Day for his help with the car park refurbishment.

A total of 19.7k was granted and spent. The club are very grateful for this support.
